Patients with Cerebral palsy, stroke, myopathy, arthritis, spondylosis, Disc prolapse all need stabilization of their joints and limbs. Here comes the role of prosthetics and orthotics.
Prosthetics and Orthotics is the evaluation, fabrication and custom fitting of artificial limbs and orthopedic braces. At Plexus we use more of orthopedic braces, or orthoses, to stabilize joints, normalize motion, give support for muscle weakness or paralysis, and assist in normal growth, development and function (in case of children) Orthoses can be applied to the head, neck, trunk, or limbs depending on the condition the patient is suffering from.
Prosthetists and orthotists are an integral part of the Plexus rehabilitation team.
